Senior noon meals offered at Dugout Lounge in Tripp

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Five days a week in Tripp at the Dugout Lounge the seniors ( 60 and over) can get the noon special for $2.50. Many take avantage of this meal not only because of the dollar value but also the chance to go uptown and visit with friends and get out of the house. This Mother’s Day May 11th the Dugout will be open for a noon meal to honor the mother’s in our community. Take advatage of staying near home and using this opportunity to patronize a home town business.

Teen & Senior Center being discussed

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

A center has been discussed to give the young and elderly people here in the Tripp area a place to relax and enjoy each others company and play games, watch TV and hopefully provide computer use. If received well through the community it should be able to remain open and maintained by it’s own operation.

Our Assets…

Friday, January 25th, 2008

We have become more aware of our assets through the Horizons project.  We can look at what we have already accomplished and see our assets are all around us.  We have had lots of people step forward, with their assets, to get things done.  Furthermore, since we began our Horizons project we are more aware of others needs and people continue to assist those in need.

A note from Senator Frank Kloucek:

Thank you to you the Mayor the entire Tripp Community and all supporters of Tripp Lake Dam. You made a very impressive showing of community support. The next round will be tougher but Hopefully we can come up with some viable solutions. The 139 signatures in just a short time, the excellent testimony and the presence of 11 Lake suporters really made the differance. Thanks again for a job well done. Senator Frank Kloucek

TWO COMMUNITIES – ONE TOWN

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

The Good Samaritan Center and the city of Tripp combined their talents to host the first annual bazaar on Saturday, December 15th. The bazaar was a treat for the Christmas season. There were 15 vendors from Tripp, Delmont, and Armour, along with residents of the nursing home who presented their wares.

The money paid by vendors for a table and all the money raised that day went to the nursing home residents for their Christmas gifts and personal items. Harvey Wormsbecher entertained the residents and patrons by playing his accordion.

The day was successful in bringing two different communities from one town together. It gave the residents an opportunity to share precious time with people outside of the nursing home. It also was a great opportunity for the people from the outside to come in and visit with the residents and view the new assisted living facilities.

Christmas is indeed the season of sharing.

The Survey’s Are In!

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Tripp LeadershipPLENTYRemember those “FUN“ pre and post surveys that the Horizons Staff had you take during Study Circles and LeadershipPLENTY?

Believe it or not - it was for a purpose!  Those pre and post surveys help us to understand how much your community learned about poverty and about leadership by your participation in those specified curriculums.

As a result, we have assembled a community profile with the results of the pre and post surveys for both Study Circles and LeadershipPLENTY.  Check out your community results by clicking on the links found under “Survey Data” on the right hand side of your community blog.
